DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND VICTIMS SUPPORT UNIT (DOVVSU)
DOVVSU is a ‘unit’ of the Ghana Police Service. It used to be called WAJU (Women and Juveniles Unit) until the Domestic Violence Act, 2007 (Act 732) changed the name and character of the service to make it gender neutral. Basically, there should be an officer responsible for domestic violence in all police stations so any victim or a person who has a complaint to make regarding domestic violence can do so at a police station.
